NAS Association and the Nizhny Novgorod UAS Research and Production Centre sign a cooperation agreement on the development of unmanned aviation

The document was signed by Dmitry Afanasyev, Chairman of the Board of the NAS Association, and Mikhail Fadeev, General Director of the Nizhny Novgorod Region UAS Research and Production Centre.

Aims and areas of cooperation
The agreement is aimed at helping to improve regulation and to organise events for the development of unmanned aviation and the autonomous systems industry.
The key principle of the partnership is to shape consolidated positions of the professional community on matters within the Centre's remit and to ensure systematic interaction between the regional centre of competence and the federal industry association.
Under the agreement, the parties plan to cooperate in the following areas:
• Regulation — joint work on draft legal acts in the field of unmanned aviation: preparing proposals, expert opinions and comments within the set deadlines;
• Protecting the interests of industry companies — reporting on the problems faced by Russian manufacturers and operators of unmanned systems and developing proposals to solve them;
• Strategic life cycle planning — helping to build a comprehensive planning system for the development, production and operation of unmanned aircraft and autonomous systems, both on the Russian market and in friendly countries;
• Developing the market for aerial work — initiating changes to legal acts in order to improve regulation and expand the market for aerial work using unmanned aircraft and autonomous systems;
• Expert interaction — participation of the parties' representatives in departmental and interdepartmental meetings, working groups, conferences, seminars and exhibitions; mutual participation in governing bodies and expert councils.

The agreement is concluded for five years with automatic renewal.
