Summer Merge is an annual off-site IT conference on the bank of the Volga, run as a three-day camp. It gathers more than 500 technology entrepreneurs, developers and heads of IT and deep-tech companies from across Russia. The Drone Delivery 2026 project ran on the festival grounds — a trial of a drone goods-delivery service for attendees.
Festival attendees could order goods from shops in the nearest town — from groceries to gadgets — with drone delivery straight to the eco-park grounds. More than 40 deliveries were completed over three days. The service was provided by three companies using multirotor drones with different drop-off methods: from automatic landing by QR code to manual control at the delivery point.
«Festival attendees treated the drones as calmly as boats on the water or cars on the road», notes Evgeny Rebizov. «Drone Delivery 2026 showed that unmanned delivery is a useful and in-demand service».
