The document was signed by Dmitry Afanasyev, Chairman of the Board of the NAS Association, and Rifkat Minnikhanov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The agreement is intended to create a firm basis for systemic cooperation between the scientific community and the autonomous systems industry. Its key purpose is to advance technology, strengthen technological sovereignty and supply the industry with highly qualified professionals.
The parties agreed to work together in the following priority areas:
• Initiating fundamental and applied research, as well as development work, on the industry’s key technological challenges, including unmanned aircraft systems, highly automated transport, industrial robotics, uncrewed vessels and artificial intelligence.
• Supporting the commercialisation of research and promoting intellectual property among the members and partners of the NAS Association.
• Designing and delivering joint programmes for training, retraining and professional development for the new economy.
• Organising joint scientific, educational and business events, including conferences, forums and demonstrations.
• Exchanging analytical and methodological materials and taking part in expert work.
This partnership marks an important step in building the effective link between science, education and industry that the national strategy for the development of autonomous systems through to 2036 requires.
