Why the industry needs this
AIRR brings together regions of the Russian Federation that have staked their development on innovation. For the autonomous systems industry, this means access to the regions as a market, as a place to deploy technology and as a source of joint projects. The agreement is designed to run for ten years.
The partnership aims to see technologies for unmanned aircraft, highly automated transport, robotics and related solutions find real use in regional economies — while regional initiatives gain industry partners, expertise and visibility.
What the parties will do together
The parties agreed to coordinate their work along several lines:
Regional markets and deployment. Promoting autonomous systems technologies in AIRR member regions, and looking for practical applications and joint initiatives.
Expertise and analysis. Exchanging professional information, providing consultations, and taking part in working groups and expert discussions.
Events and communications. Joint participation in business, industry and investment forums, and coordination of presentations, pitches and working meetings.
A partner network. Facilitating contacts with industry, entrepreneurs and development institutions, including at the interregional and international level.
“The task today is to move from isolated pilot projects to the systematic adoption of autonomous technologies in regional economies. That requires connecting the expertise of developers and operators with the real needs of territories, with infrastructure capabilities and with government support mechanisms. Cooperation between AIRR and National Autonomous Systems will make such collaboration possible and create the conditions for scaling up successful solutions,” said Alexander Smekalin, Director of AIRR.
Dmitry Afanasyev, Chairman of the Board of the NAS Association:
“Autonomous systems become an industry only when the technology works not in a single city but across the national economy. AIRR is a direct link to the regions that are ready to adopt new solutions. Member companies of the NAS Association gain a clear route into regional markets, and the regions gain access to manufacturers and operators. This cooperation is about scale, not declarations.”
