The agreement sets out three main areas of cooperation:
Research and technology. Omsk State Technical University will initiate research and development in the priority areas of autonomous systems: unmanned aircraft systems, highly automated transport, industrial robotics, uncrewed vessels, satellite systems and artificial intelligence. The results will be promoted among the Association’s members for commercialisation and practical adoption.
Training specialists. The university will design dedicated training and retraining programmes and arrange work placements for students and postgraduates at member companies of the Association. This will give the industry engineers ready to solve real production tasks.
Expert and analytical work. The parties will take part in joint forums, conferences and roundtables, exchange analytical materials and develop consultancy work.
“Developing the autonomous systems industry requires science, education and industry to be deeply integrated. Today we are launching a mechanism that will let Omsk State Technical University contribute to Russia’s technological sovereignty, and our members gain access to innovative developments and to a new generation of trained engineers,” said Grigory Gorchakov, Executive Director of the NAS Association, at the signing ceremony at the TECHNOPROM 2026 forum in Novosibirsk.
The agreement creates a mechanism for systemic cooperation between science, the university sector and industry — a key factor for technological sovereignty and for the competitiveness of Russian developments.
Omsk State Technical University has more than 80 years of experience in training engineers and is actively developing research in robotics, automation and information technology, which makes it a natural partner for the Association.
