The partnership brings the research and teaching capacity of one of Siberia’s leading universities together with the practical needs of the autonomous systems industry — from development to training specialists and shaping standards.
Areas of cooperation
The agreement sets out joint work in the following areas:
Research and innovation. SibSUTIS will initiate research and development in the priority segments of autonomous systems: unmanned aircraft systems, highly automated transport, industrial robotics, uncrewed vessels, satellite systems, software and artificial intelligence. The results will be offered to the Association’s members for practical use and commercialisation.
Training specialists. The university will design and deliver dedicated training and retraining programmes and arrange work placements and internships for students and postgraduates at member companies of the Association. This keeps the specialists it trains aligned with what the market actually requires.
Industry standards. SibSUTIS will take part in developing the industry’s technological and educational standards, and in expert and analytical work through forums, conferences, roundtables and seminars.
“We see the cooperation agreement with SibSUTIS as an important step for the autonomous systems industry. Above all, it addresses one of our key problems — people. How quickly autonomous technology is adopted depends in large part on training qualified specialists today. We also discussed bringing the university’s work into the practice of industry companies, and developing the market together, where we see considerable potential for cooperation,” said Grigory Gorchakov, Executive Director of the NAS Association.
